Sound engineer

The engineer behind the sound

Julien Courtois is a mastering engineer known for his exacting approach to sound, his musicality, and his ability to work across a wide range of styles with the same level of care and precision.

Over the years, he has worked with French artists including Kungs, GIMS, Rohff, Orelsan, Alan Stivell, Nâtah Big Band and Oscar Anton, as well as international artists such as DJ Snake, Ethan Ash, Connor Adams, Tuna and Yoav Lapid. A significant part of his work has also been devoted to helping shape and finalise projects by independent and emerging artists on the French scene.

His approach goes beyond mastering alone. It is rooted in a close understanding of the mix, the production and the artistic expectations behind each record, with the aim of achieving a result that remains true to the artist’s intent and the sonic identity of the project.
An entrepreneur and innovator, he is also the founder of Fidbak, a collaborative platform designed to streamline exchanges between artists, sound engineers and production teams.

With more than 25,000 tracks finalised, over 8 billion streams, and numerous gold, platinum and diamond certifications to his name, he is now regarded as one of the most experienced mastering engineers of his generation.
